TPU-Evolution Shoe Project: new possible uppers.
Santoni, Coatyarn and Macpi: three leading knitting companies sharing experience, know-how and a common goal, the REvolution Project. Among Coatyarn's coated yarns, TPU Evolution® is the most suitable for the production of knitted uppers, for outdoor, sports, leisure and workwear and provides resistance to abrasion, solvents, hydrolysis, oils, grease, UV rays and aging, it is also stably antibacterial with a soft touch, comfortable and 100% recyclable. TPU Evolution® is processed with Mecmor CMP3, the new MecMor CMP3 double jersey circular machine with open variable panel (Variatex Technology), for large production in high quality weft knit, resulting in an upper with brilliant colors and incredible precision details.
TPU Evolution® can be used with other yarns, inserted into wear parts, for logos or to replace leather. Macpi's 516.37 carousel press has 3 rotating plates for heating and cooling the upper, the rapid pressing activates the polyurethane yarn creating amazing color results and light contrasts from matte to glossy, with a built-in leather effect thanks to TPU Evolution®, which is more durable and has no additional application process.
The strengths of
TPU-Evolution Shoe Project.
Santoni, HP and Decathlon shoehorn innovation.
Together they offer a new sustainable approach to sports shoe manufacturing destined to reshape the industry. Traditionally, footwear requires numerous parts, adhesive materials and a lot of manpower; with 3D printing and Santoni machines, uppers can be produced with single- or double-layer fabric, resulting in an integrated upper that offers unparalleled comfort, light weight, performance. Furthermore the quality and with glueless assembly, the shoe can be repaired without being thrown away, the cushion and upper can be separated for targeted repairs, with increased durability and reduced waste, and the TPU increases its recyclability and lifecycle.
By integrating advanced materials and technologies, Santoni, Decathlon and HP are revolutionizing the industry, and not only with new designs, this partnership aims to share the benefits of 3D printing and digital knitting at the industrial level, emphasizing 3 points:
Customization:
the shoe is highly customizable according to preferences and needs.
Production flexibility:
to optimize inventory, produce on demand and without waste.
Local manufacturing:
with 3D printing you can produce on site, reducing transportation emissions and supporting local economies.
